As you’ve seen in the Chewelah Chamber video on our Main Page the Chewelah area has a lot to offer for outdoor recreation! The photo to the right is a screen shot from a flight off Eagle Mountain (7600’ – 3200’ above Eagle’s S Launch). Trigger Hill gave up a nice thermal that day!
To the left (E) in the photo is the 49ºN ski area. To the right (W) is the town of Chewelah. At the bottom is Eagle Mountain partially under cumulus cover. You can see this video here. The longest flight from the Chewelah area has been made from Parker Mountain which is in the top half center area of the photo. The video of that flight is here.
This summer MASA pilots will be available from June 5-15 to give site intros for visiting pilots. Hope you can make it. A First Aid / CPR course and an Emergency Chute Repack Clinic will be available during this time period as well.

When visiting Chewelah it’s very hard to miss Quartzite Mountain! Pilots from MASA will soon be hiking the Quartzite Mountain Trail with our paragliders and launching from these 3 locations. A move is also afoot by the Colville National Forest to have the Quartzite Mountain Trail greatly improved. Look to see us dotting the sky in our colorful canopies this Spring!
This view is from Main Street, where you can see 2 of our launch locations, is looking east as the sun is setting on the other side of the valley.
